Everyone wants to hear the Good News …

But the bad news comes first. That’s the way it is in every story – you have to have conflict to make it work.

Our bad news is that we are sinners – flawed, selfish human beings standing before a God Who is Holy and True. We can’t begin to measure up.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

And because we’ve sinned, there is punishment awaiting us.

The wages [what we’ve earned] of sin is death … Romans 6:23a

That’s some bad news right there. We’ve earned death, but not just any death – we’re talking eternal death in the place of torment known as Hell. Bad, bad news!

Ready for some good news?

… But the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23b

See, God loves you so much He was willing to send His Son Jesus to take your place. If you accept this gift, believing that it is enough to save you from your deserved punishment, God will forgive you for your sins – past, present and future – and you will have eternal life in Heaven with Him.

Now that’s Good News!
